Berry Adorable

Ok - almost at my creative limit today lol! This is for the fourth Unity challenge over at SCS. I was thinking that the four paper requirement would be tough until I found some K & Co, paper in my stash.  When  I saw the berries on the first sheet I came across, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I am keeping this short and sweet (just like the big ol' berry on the card)  Thanks for looking!

Dance to the Beat

Wow - is it Thursday already?  Boy is time flying this week.  Well, I am up to the third challenge of Unity's Anniversary week on SCS and we were tasked with using our first Unity.  Luckily for me it hasn't been so long ago that I have forgotten which stamps I got first ;-).  I chose this particular stamp since I have not had a chance to ink it up yet and it was feeling a bit neglected!  I decided to use PDCC's color challenge and CPS's sketch to help with my inspiration.  I love to go out and find all the great challenges that are out there, I find that it really helps to focus my creativity (well, once I can tear myself away from looking at all the great blogs and sites that are out there!)  Thanks for looking!

For the Birds

Here is my card that I did for Unity's Anniversary Challenge over at SCS. They have been doing tons of fun games and giveaways and if you haven't yet - go take a look!  Anyway - todays challenge is for the birds - literally!  There has to be a bird or tree incorporated somewhere in card - so I broke out one of my new {ippity} stamps - Music of My Heart (for sale here)  I followed the sketch over at the Sketch Girl blog.  I used my cuttlebug to emboss the french script on cream parchment, tore it off center and used Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink to distress the emossing and edges.  I cut out the bird I stamped with the distress ink and accented with gold lame smooch ink.  Using my Spellbinders Fancy tags I stamped the thank you sentiment (hopefully unity will forgive me - i left off an extra "many" that just didn't fit -lol) I used my smooch around the edge of the label, added a couple flowers topped off with a crystal brad and it is done.  Thank you for looking!

Sew Amazing

This is for the Unity Anniversary Challenge on SCS - They are celebrating two years, how exciting!  I am a relative newbie to Unity - I didn't find them till last December and I fell in love hard! :-)  They have some great stamps!  Anyway - I decided to combine this with the PDC color challenge - the colors actually coordinate a bit better in real life - some things just don't translate well, lol. It is also for the stamptacular sunday challenge of "sew" special.  Thanks for looking!

Courage

Well - I finally got my {ippity} stamps and couldn't wait to ink them up, so I decided to use them for the Verve challenge over on SCS.  I used the Where you Should Be set (which you can buy here).  I used the second Living Room picture that was our twist (I loved the colors - reminded me of Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC)  so it ended up being very pink and girly - love it!  The shimmer seen in the photo is Smooch Spritz -my first time really playing with it even though I have had it a while.  I paper pieced the leaves on the branch stamp and used the coordinating papers to layer.  Thanks for looking!

Love you more

I am soooo excited - finally got my {ippity} stamps and couldn't wait to use them. I decided to make my first project  the {ippiy} challenge (scallops) on SCS and a challenge I came across in my blog travels. You can find it here, it is deceptively simple with only one layer.  Easy challenge - right?  Not exactly - after working with layers for so long, you don't realize the thought pattern you get trapped in. Any way - it was a great excuse to ink up my {ippity} for the first time.  I used the Scallops from Sweet Thoughts of Spring and the sentiment and tree from Stragiht from the Heart both of which can be purchased here.  All is stamped in Chocolate Ancient page ink on parchment card stock I got from Staples.  The heart in the tree is accented with red marker and then with Smooch ink to give  it a bit of shimmer.  Rounded the two corners and it was done!  Simple, easy and way easier to fit in a card! :-)  Thanks for looking!

Crabby Hello

Verve Stamps is having a new release coming this Friday (Can't wait to see them - the sneak peeks are too tempting!) and they have a new challenge just for the release over at SCS.  The First of five is a color challenge of Orange, Aqua, and Green.  I cheated a little by darkening the aqua to more of a turquoise.  A couple new toys were the focus - a brand new EK Sucess border punch and a new Inkadinkado $ stamp.  I thought I would follow the unspoken beach theme with the little crab - so adorable.  I paper pieced his shell, colored him with pencils and a little crystal effects for his eyes.  I also snuck over to the CPS site to find a sketch to follow and thought this weeks sketch went well with the colors and stamp.  Thanks for looking!

I can't wait to try some more of them.  TFL!

Heart Song

Ok - Finished the Verve Week 3 Challenge - not really sure if I am loving the final result.  It isn't matching what I saw in my head.  Don't you hate when that happens - sometimes the result is better - and that feels great - but sometimes.....  Oh well - I may revisit sometime this week but for the meantime.
For this one I chose the green living room as my muse.  All the stamps are Verve - I desperately need to expand my collection! Where is the lottery winnings when you need them ;-) Thanks for looking!

Paper: Coredinations, Kelly Panacci

Wild Thing

I have been having so much fun with my rock star type stamps - that I haven't been able to put them away!
I decided to continue the theme for the ColourQ challenge this week. The color red turned out kinda pinkish in the pic but the colors worked together in a way i did not think.  You can't tell from the pic but there is a very faint Turq. in the background paper that I brought out with Turq. colored gems on the heart to match the Turq string.

Stamps - My Sentiments Exactly
Ink - Ancient Page, Ranger Distress
Paper - DCWV, Coredinations
Spellbinders - Lg Labels

Love - Rock Style

Here is my submission for the Play Date Cafe Color Challenge using Black/White with a splash of orange.  Contrary to the photo (couldn't get the lighting right!) All the embellies are orange ;-)  This was a super fun challenge - mostly 'cause I LOVED the colors, sometimes the simplest color combos work the best.

Adventure

This weeks challenge over at Cinema Saturday is based on the movie Up! Very cute movie - if you haven't seen it - see it!  It will make you laugh and cry - sometimes at the same time :)  I had just the image in mind before I even got to the requirement of balloons.  I decided to combine it with the ColourQ color challenge, great combo of orange, turquoise, suede, Navy & white.  For further inspiration I looked to Tuesday Morning Sketches for the sketch.  I found some great travel inspired paper in my stash from DCWV and was excited to see it matched the color scheme, I even used it to paper piece the balloon stamp from Unity.  I threw some crystals on the balloon to dress it up, and altough they look black in the pic the pearls are actually Navy blue.  All in all it was a fun card to play with

Stamps: Unity
Paper: Bazzill, Coredinations, DCWV
Ink: Ancient Page
Accessories: SU corner punch, EKsuccess border punch, Half Pearls and Crystals from stash, and bit of fabric from old belt.

Verve April Week 2 Challenge

As always - tons of fun to do this challenge - you can find it Here. Great sketches and even great inspiration pics to go along with it!  This week I chose the third pic - oranges, creams, browns, and black- just the color combo i keep getting sucked in by!  :-)

I used a verve sentiment that absolutely is sooo appropriate right now and flowers from the Unity Mar KOM that I used watercolor pencils to mimic the orange flowers in the photo.  I used an old fiskars texture plate ofr the background that runs through the big kick just fine - it was to big to play with the orig sizzix - LOVE my big kick prob one of the most important tools for me! Spellbinders for the Ovals and Hearts, MS Border punch add a little ribbon, crystals and half pearls for accents and call it a day!

Stamps: Verve, Unity
Paper - Coredinations, DCWV
Ink: Ancient page, Prsimacolor watercolor pencils
Accessories: Spellbinders Ovals, Scalloped Ovals, Hearts, Scalloped Hearts, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Fiskars Texture Plates

Little Birdie

I was playing around with a sketch I found in take ten that intrigued me, grabbed my new unity stamps KOM to have a little fun.
I paper pieced the birdhouses with different DP's to add a little excitement. The little birdie that came in the KOM just begged to have a button body, so I added a little floss in a coordinating color and he was done.
Paper: DCWV, cordinations
Ink: Ancient Page
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co.

Easter Card

A couple months ago I found a great new stamp store (They have really great stamps and can be found here - Verve Stamps) through Splitcoaststampers and have been playing along with the sketches every Friday.  They are tons of fun and have really been getting the creative juices flowing!    I decided to make one of my easter cards by using this sketch
Here is the card I submitted - find the deets below

I used the red living posted at the challenge site as my inspiration, even though red isn't a typical easter color.  The stamps I used are from Unity and Stampin Up.  I jazzed up the stamp with some crystals I had in my stash and even though you can't tell from the picture - I used some Smooch ink on the smaller flower to add a little shimmer.  Mulitple Cuttlebug folders to add some texture and interest, pearls around the sentiment and ta-da - finished Easter card.

I am also submitting this card for the Prarie Fairy Challenge found Here.

Spring has Sprung

Since spring is always a new beginning - so it is that I will start something new!  For better or worse I will jump into  the wonderful world of blogging.  Thank you for stopping by, especially those of you not related to me ;-)

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet
